The Delta region is an area which has a large indigenous population of Blues fans,
and as such has earned the right to have a world class blues festival that is planned
and conducted annually.
The event is conducted in the historic Rivertown district of Antioch, and is held in
the fall of each year.
This is planned as a musical oriented event that also combines offerings of crafts and
various foods. This family oriented event will also serve as a showcase event for the
historic Rivertown district of Antioch.
The Delta Blues Festival can be an opportunity for college students to receive real-world
experience involving audio technology application, videography and stage arrangement. Ultimately,
a commemorative music collection from the live performances could be offered as an additional
fundraising mechanism.
It may be possible for The Delta Blues Festival to act as a fundraising vehicle for additional
academic school supplies, embodying the concept of Blues for Books.
