Line up for
March 4, 2023
This year's line up is a little different. By popular request, we are offering two headlining acts that will perform for you longer than normal.
Kirk FletcherKirk is hands-down one of the best blues guitarists in the world.”
Joe Bonamassa "Kirk fires off soulful, straight-from-the-heart solos that dazzle on big stages. ..Fletcher also blows people’s minds when he’s playing rhythm guitar.”
Guitar Player Magazine Kirk Fletcher plugs in his guitar and lets out the weight of the world. With every string bend and sustained vocal, the Los Angeles-born and Nashville-based singer, guitarist, and producer summons the spirit of classic Blues spun with his own fresh fire.
It’s why he’s been tapped to complement everyone from Joe Bonamassa to The Fabulous Thunderbirds on stage or in the studio. It’s why he’s received several nominations for the Blues Music Award. It’s why he’s covered Living Blues Magazine and incited the applause of Guitar World, Guitar Player, Guitar, and many others. It’s why he’s amassed a beloved solo discography streamed millions of times. It’s also why his 2022 seventh full-length album, Heartache By The Pound, scorches as much as it does. Produced by Fletcher at the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabam, it proudly affirms him as a preeminent 21st century Blues man. “Every time I pick up a guitar, I get down to business and play with a whole lot of soul,” he notes. “I’ve been doing it my whole life, so it’s an extension of who I am. It’s like a personal PA system to make things louder and put that soul out there. Every note is a continuation of my childhood, growing up in church, and all of the things I love. That’s what’s most important to me about guitar playing. At the end of the day, I’m just a Blues man.” |
Guy King“One of my FAVORITE guiarists!”
Buddy Guy "While his past work was wonderful, King has stepped his game up here. He proves adept at jazz, blues, and anything in-between."
John Heidt, Vintage Guitar Magazine Guy King’s music is fresh and unique while maintaining a strong link to the musical masters that came before him. His natural musical abilities and his one-of-a-kind blend of Blues, Jazz, Soul, Rock and R&B are some of what makes Guy King so special in the music world.
He has built a reputation as one of the greatest blues and jazz artists to come out of Chicago in recent history and his newest album Joy is Coming establishes him as much more than that. The autobiographical album sees King showcase his songwriting chops bringing to mind Bill Withers, Eric Clapton and Steely Dan while presenting King’s true artistic voice. As a singer, King's beautiful and soulful voice is perfect for his music and his unique approach to the guitar has been compared to jazz legend Wes Montgomery and Blues legend Albert King. As he has graced stages around the world, he has captured the attention of fans everywhere. |

So, who benefits? ...Our kids.
Simply put, the kids in our community. To date we have awarded over $63,000 in grants and scholarships.
When we first started, the Benefit Concert helped support and put on the fall festival. All the while, offering a musical scholarship for students. The scholarship is still in place and moving forward it will now also directly benefit musical education through local organizations.
The festival has now transitioned into the indoor show only and we have increased our community support by using money raised at the benefit concert to help kids with music in the community. The Delta Blues Festival (DBF) has always been about community and music. What better way to show our support than to give the money raised at the Benefit Concert, back to those in the community that teach our kids and help them find their way musically.
Each year, proceeds raised from the DBF Benefit Concert will be offered to the community through a Grant. The grant will be awarded to an organization or program that assists and strengthens music programs in our community that directly enrich kid's involvement with music. Each year, we will be giving $10,000 + in grants to inspire and help kids get more music in their lives. Each ticket you buy, and each donation you make, help make this possible.
Along with our scholarship presentation, the grant funds will be presented to the chosen applicant during our Benefit Concert. If you have any questions, please contact us.
